This trip of self-discovery is backed by a new soundtrack of toe-tapping parodied hits from the 70s\, 80s and 90s. For these four ladies\, menopause was not the end\, but the beginning of a beautiful friendship where love conquers all\, and friendships never fail. It’s not necessary to see the first “Menopause” musical; the sequel invites new audiences\, as the characters from the original are strengthened as they support one another through the chaos of dating\, grandchildren\, hot flashes\, weight gain\, and more. They celebrate the importance of friendship. The musical parodies classic hits of the ‘70s\, ‘80s\, and ‘90s – for example\, “Holding Out For A Hero” becomes “Holding Out For A Vino”\, “That’s Amore” transforms into “That’s Your Hormones”\, “But I Do” switches to “I Don’t Know Why I Love Him”\, and “Disco Inferno” becomes “AC Inferno.”

Dr. Tom Wadsworth will bring us his new presentation\, “The 1946 Kidnapping of Della Stackhouse.“ \nThe fascinating 1946 story of a doctor‘s wife who was kidnapped in Dixon provides a unique snapshot of how local life was different in 1946 and how local communities banded together in trying times. As always\, Wadsworth provides a unique blend of excellent research\, eye-opening details\, and humorous observations. \nThe event includes refreshments and starts at 4:00 PM at Lost Lake Community’s Lake Court Center. \nWadsworth’s local history presentations have received rave reviews from audiences throughout our area. Hailing from Dixon\, he holds two masters degrees\, a PhD\, and is the local history columnist for the Sterling Gazette and Dixon Telegraph.
