SUMMARY:Illinois Extension Farm to Table Dinner and Tours
DESCRIPTION:Join Illinois Extension on September 11 for an enlightening day of guided tours of innovative farms in the region\, followed by a delicious dinner made from locally grown ingredients. Farm tours will kick off at 9 a.m. and include Indian Hills Orchard\, Fulton; Buffalo Creek Murray Grey cattle farm\, Polo; JL Acres LLC organic crops\, Sterling; Koster Farms hydroponic produce grower\, Sterling; Sauk Valley Community College Greenhouse\, Dixon; and Brummel Beef and Locker\, Rock Falls. Cap off the day of discovery with a mouthwatering\, locally sourced dinner at 5 p.m. hosted at the Whiteside Area Career Center (WACC). The meal will be prepared by the talented Culinary Arts Class\, showcasing many of the local ingredients highlighted in the tours earlier in the day. A tour of the WACC will take place before dinner. Individual tour and dinner spots are limited. The cost is $50 per person\, which includes participants’ choice of farm tours(s) and the dinner. Participants may also choose to attend the dinner only. At The Art of Interpretation and Teaching workshop\, award-winning storyteller\, creativity trainer\, artist\, and listening coach Marilyn Price will lead a fun\, immersive day of discovery. Participants will explore how to listen with purpose\, communicate more effectively using questions\, speak with clarity\, and engage different learning styles—all while having a great time. Early and elementary education teachers\, Master Naturalists\, Master Gardeners\, other youth educators and leaders\, and those with an interest in the wonders of nature will benefit from the program. DESCRIPTION:Quartermania is a cross between an auction and a raffle\, where you “bid” a quarter to win a prize . When you check in\, you will pick up a paddle which is used for bidding on the items you want to win. A chip with your paddle number is placed in the chip bucket. The vendor highlights their business and a product. If you would like to bid\, you place one quarter per paddle in a basket\,. THEN HOLD UP YOUR PADDLE(s) and wait for your number to be called! When your number is drawn and you have your paddle raised\, you WIN that item! Vendors also have products for sale. Guests bring quarters & quarters are sold at the event. Organizations have many raffle items to win too. Come and join in this fun fundraiser! Funds are raised from the $5 donation per Paddle.

SUMMARY:Country Line Dancing and Lessons
DESCRIPTION:Join us every Monday night at Mad Water Saloon for line dancing and lessons! Only $2 per dancer! \n5:30pm-6pm is a more “intermediate” “advanced” class where we work on learning one challenging dance for 4-5 weeks\n6:00-8:30pm is open dancing to all ages and levels. Children are welcome until 8pm with adults. Usually ages 8 and up do well with this class. \nWe have a lesson at 6:30 and another at 7:30 where you will be able to learn a full dance\, step by step with instructor Rachel Young of Dixon Country Dancing. The rest of the open dance time you are welcome to hop in and try to catch on to any of the dances. PLEASE HELP US MAKE THIS HEROES OF HOPE TOURNAMENT THE BIGGEST AND BEST OUTING IN THE AREA. \nIllinois children battling critical illnesses face daily challenges such as trauma\, sadness\, and isolations\, A wish granted to them can be a turning point in their fight against their illness. As long as children are battling life-threatening illnesses\, they will need local supporters to help them get through it. A wish come true can be a turning point in their lives. \nThe event at the Timber Creek course is opening the tournament to the public\, offering corporate sponsorships and foursomes\, we welcome the opportunity to form a partnership to help this event succeed and grant so many wishes waiting in our area. \nThis year will feature a Cannon Gun Golf Ball shooter.
